Hi friends, happy Monday! I’m back with a quick recap of the weekend, and I’m so glad you stopped by. The calendar turns so fast—it’s autumn now, even though the weather isn’t quite right yet. Here’s what we did before the week started…
We went to Flower Power in Enfield.
Flower Power is a large garden center with indoor and outdoor plants, flowers and seeds to plant, pots, some home decor, candles, pillows and a little outdoor furniture. And best of all, they even have a cafe. Wow, could my world get any better from this discovery?
I’ve heard of Flower Power before, but never before. I usually go to Bunnings because it’s closer to home, so this was my first visit, and I loved it.
Usually, I count down the days until spring to buy some colorful flowers for the front of our house, and that’s exactly what I did last year. It’s nice to see the flowers (I think they’re petunias) blooming all spring and summer, but I think they’re seasonal (can you tell I don’t really know what I’m talking about?), and now they’re looking a bit scraggly. So I want to plant some new plants that will grow throughout the fall and winter.
I did a little research, and Google told me marigolds were the answer. While I was at Flower Power, I picked up three pots of marigolds and two pots of pretty plants with small blue flowers.

Fall is for planting! Strongly agree.
Then we had lunch at the cafe. Breakfast burger for me with eggs, bacon, halloumi, hash brown and enjoy— all my favorites! Steve had chicken schnitzel with chips and salad.

We shared a mango smoothie.

And finished with orange cake, hot chocolate for Steve and a flat white for me.

We had the best time, and now we want to come back more often, maybe next Saturday!
After lunch, we wandered around and looked at the house decorations. I’ve seen some glasses like the ones I’ve read about on blogs, and this is the first time I’ve seen them here.

We went home, and I got caught up in gardening. First, I pulled out the annoying weeds and then took a large shovel to dig up some annoying tuberous roots that looked like Vecna from Stranger Things.
Then I planted this beautiful plant.

What a beautiful Saturday.
Then on Sunday, we had dinner at my cousin’s house and talked more about our upcoming trip. Only 35 days left, OK! We had delicious roast beef with mashed potatoes, carrots, onions and gravy, very tasty. My cousin served me a nice, rather large glass of Pinot Noir.
We started talking about the journey for 2027 and beyond. I’m afraid of flying, but after that glass, I’m ready to get on the next spaceship. Do you want to fly into space? Sure, why not, ha!
And that was my weekend. How are you? Have a great week!
