Hey guys, it’s time to connect with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites and a few not so favorites. Thanks so much for stopping by.
MONDAY NIGHT DINNER
On the first Monday of every month, we meet at our local RSL with a small group of friends. A husband and wife we have known for over 30 years, and we are best friends. Another person we met years ago when we were all part of a community group that came together to save the local pond.
They are nice people, but they are more the kind of friends who have dinner once a month than the kind of people who like to share everything. The actual dinner, the grilled fish, chips and salad I ordered, was a favourite.
But as we ended the night and said goodbye. One of them asked when we were going to Singapore and Japan. I said, In about five weeks and he replied, “Oh… but with the war, your plane could be knocked out of the sky. I wouldn’t go if I were you.”
It’s funny, well, not that funny, but you know what I mean, how people casually insert fear into the conversation, as if it’s nothing.
Dinner is my favorite part of the evening.
That comment…not so much.
I’m confused and now really need positive vibes from everyone only. Flying is scary enough for me, and there is no need for such additional comments. Oh my gosh Louise!
Anyway, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s move on to some favorites.
MIE
These noodles are very tasty and easy. All you need to do is rinse it and add it to whatever you like. I love that they are low carb, fat free, and guilt free.
My son, a diet-conscious young man, introduced it to me when he added it to our online food order. We share a grocery app, so I often see what he puts in his cart. Sometimes I edit things, but this one made it to the final product and turned out to be a winner.
But I don’t know what the konjac ingredients are.

ICE COFFEE GLASS
A preschooler gave me these glasses for Christmas, and I love using them for iced coffee. It feels luxurious to drink from a glass straw. Haha.

HOT CHOCOLATE
Time for more of our favorite hot chocolate, Swiss Miss. That big can has lasted quite a long time. I fill the containers we keep in the tea and coffee cupboard. The weather wasn’t too hot yet, but we still enjoyed it that night. Soon it will be cool enough to really enjoy it.

CITY NIGHT
Steve and I went into town on Wednesday to return some Skechers I accidentally ordered online—women’s size 11, oops! Anyway, we decided to make it a fun night. After swapping shoes at Myer, we headed to The Arthouse Hotel for drinks and dinner.
They also have live music, which is wonderful and adds to the overall atmosphere. A young girl plays guitar and sings some popular cover songs. Whenever we listen to live music, we always say, “Don’t you wish we could sing?” My singing is actually only suitable for children aged 3–5 years who are very forgiving.
That’s a wrap on some favorites! Getting excited for the weekend, some extra sleep and a little sunshine would also be nice. The humidity turned the sky gray for most of the week.
Happy Friday
