Hi friends, it’s time to connect the July edition Share our lives. Today, we share our best vacation memories.

I am a champion who thinks more, so when I read the prompt, I think, “Hmm, one vacation memory – only one? It’s like choosing a favorite child.” Also, we usually don’t say it holiday Here in Australia – we say Holiday. For us, anything that involves not working or school is a holiday!

But of course, I understand what the prompt means. And I also like that one of the fun things about the demand for this link is that there is room to make it yours. So, instead of choosing only one, I share three of my best vacation memories. Not surprisingly, each of them involves family or friends – the memories of the trip remain the best when they involve your favorite people.

So, here are the three best vacation memories – starting with a journey from behind.

Budgewoi

I hope I have a number of photos to share, but this trip occurred in the 80s good – when the Chunky camera and cellphone did not even exist. I don’t think anyone thinks to bring a camera for this trip, because I don’t have photos. It’s okay, because memories spin in my head like a snapshot from one of the best childhood holidays ever. Let me bring you back.

This picture: Sydney, 1985 – This is a hot summer, and Madonna Like a virgin The album in a cassette (yes, cassette) is my favorite! My family went on vacation with two other families who have daughters my age. We are all friends, and we hire karavans in the Karavan park in Budgewoi. I have never heard of Budgewoi before, but I remember so excited because I would hang out with my friends who love Madonna.

At that time, Budgewoi was a calm and relaxed place on the middle coast of New South Wales. I didn’t think it was really true to be That The purpose of the beach vacation, even today. But I did a fast google search, and I could see the Karavan garden had a good makeover. When we were there, there was a little A Bates Motel Vibration – not in a scary way. But the decoration must have been since then.

The four of us spent all giggling, swimming in a swimming pool, played a single arcade game in the milk bar, and spoke endlessly. I remember one night, we played board games and laughed so hysterically. A woman from the Karavan next to us bang on our door and told us to hold it. Gosh – We are good girls who are not accustomed to having trouble! So we have to keep laughing in silence, which of course makes it more funny. We laughed very loudly we snorted!

Forward quickly to a completely different type of vacation and very close to my heart.

Hawaii in 2000

My uncle (my mother’s brother), Auntie, and three of their adult children moved from Australia to New York and finally to Hawaii in 1982. So, for the first 12 years of my life, we had a family that lived near her. We spent the weekend together, celebrating Christmas and birthday, and traveling. They are my world.

Then one afternoon, my uncle came to tell us that they finally had their US visa approved. WHAT??? Extraordinary news for them … but not too much for me. A few months later, they pack and leave. Waaaahhhh!

My mother and I visited my family on Long Island, New York, two years after they left Australia, in 1984. It was a beautiful journey full of fantastic memories. But a really prominent visit was when we saw them in Hawaii in 2000. We spent one full week with them, and once again, I felt like a child, surrounded by a family that I love and has missed.

It also stands out as one of my most valuable vacation memories because, a little we know, this will be the last time we see my uncle. He died in 2004 from a large -scale heart attack, making us all destroyed.

And then there is the latest trip – Epic adventure with my family is full of extraordinary moments.

Cousin Connect Adventure 2025

Geez, if I have never taken another trip again, it will be fine – because this is everything! So many memories, everything is still fresh in my mind – how to choose only one ?? Road trip, meeting my family in LA, walking on the same road where Luke, C-3PO, and R2-D2 roaming at Death Valley, driving through Las Vegas, hugging Minnie, dropped on what feels like 100 km/hour Lintar The Guardians of the Galaxy Up, snorkel in Waikiki, climb narrow …

But of all the extraordinary experiences, there is one day that really stands out for me.

So, like this – I will choose one of the best memories of the trip: Walk through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. His strength is strong with our family – we are big fans, especially my cousin J and me. But I never, in a million years think I will experience this with them.

I can confidently say it is one of the best days in my life (Shh – only between you and me, maybe That Best Day!). I know, I know – it’s a big call, and I don’t want to take anything from my wedding day or the birth of my children. But today is really in the top of all, and that must be my number one best vacation memory.
