During our trip recently to Oahu, we stopped specifically at the Byodo-in temple in Hawaii, tucked in a beautiful temple valley. Initially it was not in the list that we had to see-in reality, I had never even heard of this peaceful jewel before. But my extraordinary cousin kindly brought us there, and I was very happy they did it. As I said before, they had to quit their daily jobs and continue Travel guide (Australian travel show) or Extraordinary race – They know all the best hidden places!
Byodo-in Temple in Hawaii
But wow, this place is amazing! This temple is a beautiful replica of a 950 -year -old Japanese temple and sits peacefully under the amazing Koʻolau mountains.
When we arrived, we could hear a gentle ringing bell in the distance, please, please – and it sounded almost stunning. Then, we know that it is a holy bell at the entrance of the temple. Visitors can ring it to bring good luck and clear their minds. I was so disturbed by a very peaceful environment that I missed the opportunity to line up and call him! Oh well, I think I just have to come back someday.
Inside the Byodo-in temple, there is a big golden statue of Buddha.
Outside, the gardens are amazing. They reminded me of what I imagined as a big version of Mr. Park. Miyagi will be like – peaceful and careful -carefully treated, with a small path, koi pool, and bridge.
At a souvenir shop, you can buy food for koi fish, so of course, we do it. Koi will follow you when you feed them. Then we run out of fish food. But my son and his cousin found that koi fish would still follow them every time they waved on the water. The fish is clearly trained, means food.
Koi followed them crossing a good stretch of a large pond, back and forth for centuries when the children waved their hands like Mr. Koi. Their arms hurt, but koi persistent (or just really hungry). Very funny to watch – real memories and funny moments are all rolled into one.
If you visit Oahu and want to see a special place, the Byodo-in Temple is a place to visit! This is a peaceful oasis – in contrast to busy places and tourists, which are of course extraordinary. It’s great to experience both!
Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens
Continuing with our peaceful and peaceful theme that day, we headed to Ho’aluhia Botani Park after visiting the Byodo-in temple in Hawaii.
There is a small visitor center near the entrance where we appeared for a while to see a few views.
After that, we looked at one of the open grass areas nearby. We don’t explore too far; It was just a short visit to admire amazing views.
Nightkai
We ended our very peaceful day by swimming in Lanikai.
I don’t believe that all this majesty happened to me – like I was in a film or something! The water is very clear, the breeze is calm, and the whole place feels so soft and calm. I am used to the beach in Sydney that is windy and a little wild, so this feels very different – in the best way. Dreams really come true 🥰
Many photos by my cousin J – He is really an extraordinary photographer!
