Before I bought cleaning supplies, I kept cleaning supplies in various places around the house. Some things are under the kitchen sink, others are in the laundry, and I’m constantly going back and forth looking for whatever I need. If I had a dollar for every round I made collecting cleaning supplies, I could probably pay someone to clean it for me.
I finally realized that a cleaning caddy was the answer (not sure why it took so long?), and today I’m sharing what’s inside me. I only have the essentials because I’ve stopped buying ten different sprays for the same job. The goal is simple, friends!
My Cleaning Caddy
Before I show you what’s inside, I have to say I don’t like this caddy. It’s a bit shallow, and the compartment is oddly shaped, so the bottle will tip over if it’s not installed properly. It’s a bit annoying, but everything is kept in one place, and I can take it from room to room, so I’m not in a rush to replace it.
If you are looking for a cleaning container, I would say choose one that is deeper and has better shaped compartments for bottles. I’ll probably get another one eventually, but for now, this one works–to the point of driving me absolutely crazy!
What’s Inside My Cleaning Caddy
domestic

This Domestos bottle is the hero! I like the long nozzle, so I can spray liquid all over the edges and curves of the showerhead. Bleach is great for removing mold and stubborn dirt. So far, the bathroom has been mold free for years. Phew!
Bath and Shower Spray

This citrus bath and shower spray is a nice change from strong sprays. The smell is fresh, and not overpowering. You know those cleansers that promise big results but leave you feeling chemicals in the back of your throat? This is the opposite of that. It’s fresh, light, and doesn’t make you feel like you need to get out of the shower and run outside for some fresh air.
Toilet Cleaner

I always choose the tropical flowered ones because they smell the prettiest.
Disinfectant

A splash of hot water is great for cleaning around cat litter boxes and other cat-related messes — ick! My cats are generally very clean, but you know how cats are. I also use it for general disinfecting around the house.
Floor cleaner

This is a low cost floor cleaner that leaves the floor spotless, which is what I need. Oh, and it smells great too, with a subtle fresh scent.
Intelligence

Gumption is perfect for scrubbing the bathroom floor in our master bathroom. We have one of those plastic floors where no spray will work. Sometimes you can’t escape the Cinderella kneeling method.
Cloth and Gloves

My cleaner also has some rags for cleaning the bathroom and general dusting, plus a pair of rubber gloves to save my hands.
And that’s what I keep in my cleaning container. All the basics, no extras — anything more wouldn’t fit, which is probably a good thing for someone like me who likes to keep things minimal. Caddy helps me stick to a simple cleaning routine, doing a little each day to stay on top of things and reach the ultimate goal of doing nothing on the weekends. That’s a big goal I haven’t achieved yet, because there’s always more to do, right?
