Hi friends, and welcome to Friday Favorites! Usually, I am very happy to welcome Friday-but this means this is the end of my two weeks of winter vacation … Waaahhhh !! Geez, the week passed so fast! By the way, I will wait until Sunday before I launch it to the full blues. For now, I will pretend that Monday is not there and recapitizes the spotlight from the second week of my vacation. Let’s go!
Kirribilli Market
Last weekend, my beautiful friend and I spent the morning at the Kirribilli market. We have fun around and check all the stalls. They have everything ranging from handicrafts and candles to art and used clothing.
I bought some funny birthday cards and a pack of stickers that might last until I was an old woman. I have liked stickers since forever, and I haven’t seen that change – even when I was 99 years old and put it in my running frame.
Have lunch
We left the market and walked to the nearest cafe for lunch – the same we went to the last time we visited the market. It was comfortable and beautiful at that time, so we were more than happy to come back. When you like good things, you still use it!
We both ordered the same food as the last time, but made many things with different tea choices.

I have bacon and roll eggs, and what distinguishes this from what I have is a red gum smoke tomato. Usually, only tomato sauce (or BBQ sauce). But this is the next level with a perfect balance of sharp and sweet.

I took a photo of the menu because the food displays authentic Australian ingredients, which I think is interesting.

After lunch, we walked over the bridge port and roaming around the Batu and Round Pier Market. I experienced a pleasant day!
Fixed surprise
When I got home, I told my husband about that day and some of the places we saw. I mentioned a cute little boutique hotel called The Harbor Rocks Hotel, and then he surprised me by advising us to stay there because he had a few days off. He doesn’t need to say it twice-I ordered we stayed one night in a short time! We are usually not haha this spontaneous.
Residence time
After I pressed “Book Now,” I checked the review. Some said it was extraordinary, while the others were not so impressed. Classic Mixed Bags – But I don’t know what guests are doing that is not impressed because we have the best time.
The room was compact and clean, and I like the whole atmosphere of the hotel inheritance with open brick walls, wooden blocks, and warm and attractive shades. The location is also perfect – in the heart of a stone.

Interestingly, this hotel was once a Wool shop in 1887 called the Evans Shop. This was built right at Sydney’s first hospital place, and there were some framed photos on the wall that showed the historical pieces, which in my opinion were a good touch.
Gosh – This is what should be seen by one of the rooms before being renovated.

In my excitement for the historic charm of the hotel, I forgot to take a photo of our room. My husband did it, but it was on his phone and he was working.
I did take photos of funny lobbying and beautiful chandeliers.

We checked in right after noon, then headed straight to the Fortune of War Pub for lunch.
Delicious fish and old chips!

Then we walked around Circular Quay, Opera House, and Royal Botanic Garden.

I enlarge to catch photos of some people climbing a bridge. Haha, from a distance, they looked like a small ants scrambled there.

At night, we have snacks in restaurants attached to the hotel. Olives filled with fried feta, carrot sauce, and ribbon bread with a few cups of wine.

Christmas at the July Market
After our snacks, it’s time to be festive at the Christmas market in July.

We were in full vacation mode and did not realize that the restaurant was closed early because it was Wednesday. During the holidays, every day it feels like Saturday for me!
Fortunately, we made it on time before the kitchen was closed at this burger and ribs. I have beef patty with salads and fried potatoes, and Steve goes for the Burger -GIBS combo.

The second day – walking and walking
The next morning, we had breakfast at a Mediterranean restaurant named Tayim. I have shakshuka with the most delicious crispy beans – so yum!

Then it was time to walk from all foods with other big roads – this time across the bridge to North Sydney. Steve tried to convince me that the bridge was closed for that day. In fact, he said everything was prohibited from crossing Sydney, and we had to relax at the hotel. Good business! I did not buy all that and told him that it was time to use the new knee well.
After we crossed the bridge to North Sydney, we wandered for a while before riding the ferry back to Circular Quay. We only missed one, but with a view like this at Milsons Point Wharf for the next 22 minutes, it was not a struggle.

This is our view from Feri – I have seen this bridge with trillion times, but I have never been bored.

How fun, the spontaneous staycation we have and we cannot ask for better weather. It’s cold, but Oh is very bright! I think I will finish more blogging when not working, but on the contrary, I exchanged jobs for rest, catch up, and a very beautiful night. So, I missed blogging on Wednesday. But it feels fun to come back today.
Thank you very much for stopping by!
Happy Friday 😊
