Hi, friends. Time to catch up with Holly and Sarah and recap my very quiet weekend at home. Being home feels good after returning to work last week.
It’s funny how even after Christmas, New Years and long summer holidays, I still feel like I never really get that time off. Explosion. Just like that, it all felt like a distant memory, and Captain Routine returned to take over last week. Not complaining, just reflecting on how quickly time flies. I mean, what happens in January?
So what do I do?
Yes, the wildest thing I did was finish all my washing. It’s been a long time since I looked at the bottom of an empty laundry bag for more than five minutes.
But even so, I think I actually prefer seeing dirty laundry, because it means Sam is home and he’s gone to work, to the gym, or hung out with friends and has gone through about three changes of clothes, which explains the usually full laundry bag. He’s off to Bali, and I’m sure he’s having a great time with his friends.
In the evening, I sent him a casual “Hey, how are you?” I don’t mind if I don’t get the details. All I want is proof of life. He sent me one photo of his meal and one of his accommodations. Good eggs! Continue your good work.
This weekend, I also returned to cooking basic high protein meals. During the holidays, there are snacks here and snacks there, no one will ever know. Yes, diber dobber scales are like that. I gained a few pounds, and so did my husband. He was annoyed with himself, because he was determined not to gain weight before his knee replacement, and he still had a goal of losing more.

But that’s all fine, because life would be very boring if we didn’t enjoy all the treats during the holidays. Don’t you agree? Anyway, the fun is over and we are back on track. Cauliflower rice, anyone?

I spend most of the weekend watching TV. Blue Blood is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I was so sad when it ended. So it’s spin-off time Boston Blue come on, I thought, yay! We’ve watched and caught up on all the episodes that have come out so far. I’m not sure… I mean, I like it and I certainly don’t like it, but I don’t like it yet. Too many plot holes for me, and I missed all the Reagan. The strangest part is that the storylines feel very similar, with the same types of roles and situations repeated over and over again. I’ll keep watching it, and who knows, I might change my mind.
I also watched the last four episodes of the season Stranger Things. Oooh, that was great, and I don’t know how this will end, but I really hope everything finishes neatly and everyone lives. Everyone except Vecna!
And that’s all I did over the weekend. How are you? I hope you get a good one.
