Hi friends, happy to be back today at sunny – yes, sunny – Monday! Woohoo, the rain finally stopped, and we had to enjoy a dry weekend. I chatted with one of the preschool parents this morning, and we both agreed how spoiled we lived in Sydney, where the sky was bright blue almost all year. Hooray for that!
Now it’s time to connect with Holly and Sarah to share a little about our weekend. Thank you very much for stopping by!
Saturday
We started the weekend by trip to the Opera bar. After a week of rain, it seems that half of Sydney has the same idea – Circular Quay buzzing, and every Harborside restaurant is crowded.
We were lucky and found the table as soon as we arrived, right near live music. Still amazed that you don’t need to order – you can only roam. The price of the menu is also quite reasonable, given the location and appearance. You can even get a cheaper wine bottle than in some local places.

Opera Bar changed hands after 24 years, with a new group taking over in mid -September. Fingers crossed them not to play with miracles or make it too luxurious or exclusive. I like that this is a fun, relaxed, and relaxed place where you can drink, something to eat, and hang out as long as you like it. Ha! This is where I am fussy about changes even before that happened. I’m sure it will still be extraordinary … maybe even better.
We ordered hot seafood plates, and it came with a small net dome cover to stop the seagull from pinching your food. Everyone was covered in their plates, which I did not remember from our previous visit – maybe because we arrived there during the peak lunch period this time.

We saw the border coollies trained around the bar with their trainer, keeping the seagulls. There are no big flocks, only persistent birds who float there -here. I’m a little scared, people might defecate in my head – yes!
After lunch, we appeared in a small patisserie for the dessert. We are quite full from lunch, so we share chocolate éclair with our coffee. Next time, there will be no sharing!

Steve had to work at night, so I spent the night looking for new songs for preschool music and our movements. There are so many fantastic ideas from some of the creators of very excited early childhood content – I need to return my zing this year.
Sunday
Sunday is our lunch day, and we have eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, salmon, and the first occupants.

Steve went to work, and I walked to Westfield to buy some new pants to work – I would wear the old one to death. I used to only wear clothes from my wardrobe that I no longer like. But they made me feel Bleh because I wore clothes that I didn’t like every day. And they are usually uncomfortable.
Now I only buy clothes, especially to work from Uniqlo. My work clothes are simple with basic pieces that I can mix and match. They wash well and are actually comfortable. Win-Win!
The pants I want are half the price, so I bought a pair of gray and a pair of black. I also got several long-sleeved t-shirts and jumpers.
I was hungry after shopping, so I treat myself happily from McDonald’s. It came with toys, which I offered to my 20-year-old child when I arrived home-he laughed but politely refused. I will give it to my oldest son, a 32-year-old man who likes to gather things like this. Haha.

Then at night, I worked on a version of a story book from a song about goodness in Canva. It has a beautiful and soothing melody, but rather long-winded for children aged 4 and 5 years. I think pairing it with illustrations while we listen might help him stick. Who knows – this year is about learning to be kind. Pray for me!
Happy Monday!
