Hi friends, welcome to what’s up wednesday! It was once again to share some highlights from August. Thank you very much for stopping by – I always respect you here.
What we eat this week
Monday – Chilli Con Carne with rice. To achieve a little everything, I added a few turmeric to rice to make it yellow. It doesn’t change taste, but it makes the dish more colorful
Tuesday – We went to Pub Allawa for dinner with friends. I have a chicken schnitzel with chips, salads, and sauce, but after seeing chicken and pai leek my friend, I know I should order it. I have a big PAI jealousy!
Wednesday – grilled chicken with mash and vegetables
Thursday – Spaghetti Bolognese.
Friday – grilled beef
Saturday – leftover food
My husband assured me to let him cook today (and for the remaining a week!). I’m not sure why I never accepted his offer – he was very helpful around the house and really enjoyed being in the kitchen. Some of myself like zoning when I cook, but other parts of me began to think … why not let him take over more often?
He reduced his working hours and could even see retirement, but after watching the Netflix documentary film Blue zone By and Buettner, we both decided to continue working. I like to do full time, and he is happy to reduce, and it works very well. We can spend more time together.
Which said, it would have shook my small night routine, where I used to be alone at home with my own schedule which included cooking. I enjoy more, but this is a change – and even a good change takes a little time for me to get used to. Do you understand what I mean?
By the way, my weekly eating planning turned into a little therapy session – Thank you for allowing me to release it from my chest! 😅 In short … I think I might have some control problems – yes!
What I Remember
To be honest … I can’t think of anything.
What I Love
I have seen several blooming flowers in my garden and in other people’s gardens on my streets to and from work. After what feels like eternal winter, I am very happy to see spring evidence of peeking!
What we have done
The spotlight in August was a cousin connected.
We celebrated Steve’s birthday with lunch at home, only the four of us.

Then, on his true birthday, we had breakfast at the boat warehouse and walked – the way to explore La Perouse – like a beautiful place!

We had lunch at the Opera Bar last weekend.

It was a pleasant time, and then for the rest of this month, it was only an ordinary work routine.
What am I afraid of
Tomorrow I lead an evacuation training at work. This time, this is a bigger scenario, and we have to evacuate to the local park. Hmph, just thinking about it makes me stressed! First of all, this group of children is very alive, so around them will be ‘fun.’ Then roll call, achieve all the things needed (medicine, etc.), get it to the rope walking, we will use a walking rope with a loop grip (sometimes called a donut ring) and crossing a busy road.
We practiced training on Tuesday led by other educators, and I made a mistake by directing one of the boys to “hold on to donuts.” So he started chewing it: “But Miss Ruth, you say it’s a donut!” God, give me strength!
What I Watch
Golden age– it was very good and a little reminded me Downton AbbeyWhat I really love. I also finished watching Friends like himSeries from New Zealand. I have never watched a show from New Zealand before, and I really enjoyed it – many dramas, but not the type of stress that I could not handle at this time, only entertaining the drama.
Then on Sunday night, we started watching Hostage. We only have two episodes remaining, and I ask whether this series is limited or not. We really like it and can’t wait to see how it ends!
What I listen to
This is part of my Spotify Music Play List & Movement.

Most of these songs are new for me (except And ram I’m alone), and I have practiced action so that I can get it before introducing it to preschool children.
What I Wear
Still wearing winter clothes, but the good news is that I go down one layer this week. Spring coming!
What I do this weekend
Portuguese coffee and cake on Saturday morning. Then I met a number of friends I had never seen in the afternoon. Week looks like this will be the day that lives at home.
What I Wait for Next Month
Spring! Hooray for spring!
And that’s a wrap in August! I don’t believe how fast time has passed. I have to admit, my favorite months will come, and I’m very excited! Since September and so on, spring, a pleasant celebration is on the way, and everything feels brighter and more cheerful. I hope you all have a great August, and this is September’s hope for all of us!
